Baseball has long been considered an American pastime and as such has been held in high regard by many who consider it a near sacred occasion when one such game is played professionaly. Unfortunately, baseball has never really done much for me, in fact I decided to consider it among the most boring sports in history, standing proudly among other crowd borers such as golf, cricket, curling, long distance running and professional speedwalking.
My main reason for doing so though, is that one of baseballs greatest accomplishments, pitching a no hitter, is like being rewarded for making sure there is no action in the game whatsoever. In fact, the recent game where Carlos Zambrano pulled off this dull feat was perhaps the most boring televised event all year up untill the very end when everyone was allowed to celebrate.
I also cannot help but notice that there are so many of these games that you can lose the first 20 games in a row and it still doesnt matter since you still have 142 chances to win.
Maybe it is just my own inability to understand the sweet science that is any of the 162 games that each team in the major leagues played.
Or maybe it is simply because football rocks...

I agree that baseball is boring, after all, the only exciting part of the game is trying to catch a home run ball hit once a game. A bunch of people are agreeing with your opinion because the 2007 world series had a television rating of 10.6 compared to 1992 when the world series had a television rating of 20.2 . For those that do enjoy baseball I think the fact that baseball is America’s past time allows people to feel patriotic when they attend baseball games, because baseball has deeper roots than any other major American sport in history.
Honestly I hate baseball. I guess I like playing softball. But in terms of watching competitive sports I'm more likely to turn to televised tennis than baseball. Honestly I've never understood watching any sports on TV to begin with...so I have a definite bias. I think people probably liked baseball more 50 years ago just because everybody wasn't in such a hurry. Still, watching baseball makes me want to tear my hair out.
